Teddy Kim

A local entrepreneur and passionate traveler who has circled the globe a few times, Teddy Kim has an intense love of food and a keen sense of quality and service. Born and raised in Alexandria, VA, Teddy then attended Virginia Tech to obtain a degree in urban planning. In 2004, Teddy was attracted to the Parker-Gray neighborhood of Old Town Alexandria, an area that, to him, oozed potential though the majority or the area was industrial and undeveloped. As his understanding of the neighborhood grew, Teddy saw warehouse after warehouse converted into luxury apartments or condos and began to wonder why there were no good restaurants to accommodate the influx of residents. After 2 years of negotiations, meetings and hearings Teddy Kim, along with his lifelong friends, filled the niche with the opening of their first TLC Group restaurant, Mason Social.
